HARRIS, Brent

Raised in Aotearoa, Brent Harris emigrated to Australia in 1981. In 1984, he was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Victorian College of Arts in Naarm Melbourne. Major exhibitions include Just a feeling: selected works 1987–2005 (2006) at the University of Melbourne’s Ian Potter Museum of Art, Brent Harris (2012) at the National Gallery of Victoria, and Towards the Swamp (2019) at Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū. His works are held by numerous institutions of note, including Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, Te Puna of Waiwhetū, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the National Gallery of Australia, and the National Gallery of Victoria.
