Resources

Our education resources have been developed by writer and educator Lucinda Bennett with the needs of teachers from Aotearoa New Zealand in mind. They use artworks from the Fletcher Trust Collection to support the development of engaging classes and activities.

Each resource provides background information on a selection of artworks by different artists (with cited sources), inquiry questions, and hands-on making activities to encourage meaningful engagement.

Themes have been carefully selected to align with the New Zealand Curriculum, particularly in Visual Arts, while also promoting cross-curricular connections.

Each resource includes a short introduction and provides specific curriculum links, as well as guidance on the achievement objectives and assessments it supports.

Developed for Years 7–13 (Curriculum Levels 3–8), these resources aim to help teachers confidently introduce students to Aotearoa’s rich art history and contemporary practice, drawing on works from one of the country’s significant private art collections.
