Sum was exhibited at McLeavey Gallery, Te Whanganui-a-Tara, in the company of work by Mark Braunias and William Dunning. A quotation from James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake prefaced the catalogue list: ‘Or that one may be separated from the other? Or that both may then be contemplated simultaneously? Or that each may be taken up and considered in turn apart from the other? Here let a few artifacts fend in their own favour.’
