Falling on Grass features the rectangular and elliptical forms associated with earlier works by Gretchen Albrecht, such as Nocturne (A Measure of Time). Here, however, the artist has opted for a conventionally shaped canvas, allowing her gestures to spill over the central oval and create new plays of depth.
