This painting, like another entitled Hope Street, attempts to reconfigure a minor local street behind Karangahape Road into a metaphysical domain. It is a network of map-like lines and shapes to suggest the fusion of place with the individual self. Reynolds has written that the work ‘summons no great highway, but the daily traffic of our individual and spiritual orientations’.
