Olivia Spencer-Bower’s loose style of paint application was admired when she first started to exhibit and proved to be an influential factor among her contemporaries. This painting is typical in its subject matter and sharp definition, and shows clearly the artists considerable skill in depicting the effects of bright sunlight on the landscape.
